After weeks of speculation, it’s finally been confirmed that Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante will defend his Strikeforce light heavyweight title against MMA legend Dan Henderson at Strikeforce: Columbus. The event takes place March 5th at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

This will be the first title defense for newly crowned champion, Rafael Cavalcante, since crushing Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal back in August of 2010. The win was Cavalcante’s third consecutive victory, including knock out victories over Antwain Britt and Aaron Rosa.

Dan Henderson will get a shot at Strikeforce gold for the second time, in only three fights within the promotion. Henderson earned a shot at the light heavyweight title after dismantling Renato “Babalu” Sobral with a first round knockout last December. In his Strikeforce debut, Dan Henderson faced then-champion Jake Shields for the middleweight title but lost a unanimous decision.
