The second welterweight tournament quarterfinal match-up is between last year’s runner-up, Dan Hornbuckle and Brent Weedman. The fight will be apart of the televised main card for Bellator 35. The event takes place on March 5th at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, California.

Dan Hornbuckle had an impressive run in last year’s tournament, defeating Tyler Stinson and Steve Carl with first round submissions. Unfortunately, his six-fight win streak was snapped in the tournament finals when eventual champion Ben Askren earned a unanimous decision victory. Hornbuckle returned two months later and survived a first round scare against UFC veteran Brad Blackburn to win a decision from the judges.

Brent Weedman has quietly put together a nine-fight win streak, including three-straight victories inside the Bellator Fighting Championships. He earned a spot in the tournament after beating Jacob McClintock with a first round TKO stoppage.

Other welterweight tournament quarterfinal matches set for Bellator 35 include; Jay Hieron vs Steve Carl, Lyman Good vs Chris Lozano, and Jim Wallhead vs Rick Hawn.
