Another UFC veteran has been added to BAMMA 5. Frank Trigg will meet the United Kingdom’s hard-hitting, John Phillips. BAMMA 5 takes place on February 26th at the Manchester Evening News Arena in Manchester, England. Another lethal striker, Paul Daley meets current DEEP welterweight champion Yuya Shirai in the evening’s main event.

John Phillips is known for being one of the most feared strikers across the Atlantic. All thirteen of his career victories have come by way of TKO stoppages, most recently against Cage Rage veteran James Zikic. Phillips’ last defeat came against Denniston Sutherland back at BAMMA 1 in June of 2009.

Frank Trigg was released from the UFC in February following back-to-back losses against Josh Koscheck and Matt Serra. He recently righted the ship last November against Roy Neeman with a first round TKO stoppage in Israel.

A pair of UFC veterans have been added to the main card of BAMMA 5. Light heavyweights James McSweeney and Ricco Rodridguez have been slotted for the co-main event of the evening. BAMMA 5 takes place February 26th at the Manchester Evening News Arena in Manchester, England.

James McSweeney returns to the cage for the first time since being released from the UFC last October. After beating fellow cast member Darrill Schoonover in the Ultimate Fighter Season 10 Finale, McSweeney lost to Travis Browne by a first round TKO. Following the loss, McSweeney dropped down to the 205-pound division, but was defeated by Fabio Maldondo, prompting his release.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Ricco Rodriguez was once considered one of the top fighters in the world before succumbing to personal problems that led to drugs and a massive weight problem. With help from TV’s Dr. Drew, Rodriguez has conquered his demons and is currently on a 10-fight win streak, including wins over Daniel Tabera, Travis Fulton, and Moise Rimbon.
